Tears of joy filled the people of Luwero as they launched own area team Kalasa United to start competing in the FUFA organized tournaments ,may be even compete in the Azam Uganda Premier League.
The launch that took place at Kititi play ground in Kalasa even attracted Kampala City tycoon Sam Buchanan to go and fulfill his pledge.
Buchanan managed to donate two full sets of Jerseys to be used by the team on home and away basis as he had promised earlier on.
As he gave out the sets of jerseys to the team coach Matte Godfrey, Buchanan advised the players to keep feet and disciplined.
“In today’s football, a player who does not have manners is nothing” Said Buchanan.
He went ahead to advise the players to behave like the war veterans who died from Kalasa to spark off the war that brought President Museveni to power.
“I can’t imagine 59 people dying at St Luke church Kalasa just because the then soldiers had guns.” Noted Buchanan.
He also reminded them of the Kalasa citizens who shielded Gen Salim Saleh, protecting him from the ruthless soldiers who wanted to kill him.
Buchanan promised to give all the relevant support to the team to enable it fulfill its dreams.
The team coach Matte Godfrey thanked the management of Buchanan Investments for coming out through Mr. Buchanan to support his team.
“Iam so happy that such people and companies can come out to support a team that has history like Kalasa” Said Matte.
On this day the team trained happily and from there Buchanan promised them a friendly match against Bukedde TV which shall take place tomorrow Saturday of November 2017.
From here Buchanan had a camp fire at him area home where he, Raggadee ad journalists exchanged various ideas on how to make the team grow first.
It should be noted that if Kalasa comes up to join the Azam Uganda premier league, it will be the second team to represent Luwero triangle.
