All is not rosy for revelers who find solace in spending their outmost time at National Theatre after the statutory centre being incriminated with criminality acts.
Of late, National Theatre has been characterized with high levels of theft especially from boda boda riders and unregulated firearms entry by high profiled people into the public place.
Many people who board Boda Bodas from National Theatre have lost a number of valuables to ‘armed’ men who disguise as boda boda cyclists.
According to one of the victims a one Miracle, an artiste who was robbed clean of his expensive Mac laptop and Camera, a boda boda cyclist (thug) transports you from the theatre while being followed by fellow riders (colleagues) and when they reach at a certain point which is safe for them, they grab your valuables and take off.
On the other hand, guns entry is not regulated at the entertainment centre; high profiled people enter with their cars while fully armed with firearms regardless of being checked by security operatives at the entry points.
One of the security guard who preferred anonymity says they are in fear for people’s lives since one gun owners may run out of control and kills people who use this public place.
He says the theatre administration was at one time tasked to provide a safe guns custody point but it turned a deaf ear.
Apparently, basing on the rising rate of criminality, many people especially artistes and revelers have shunned away from the place in fear for their lives.
