Members of Parliament arrested on Tuesday morning as they headed to Parliament to work, have been released this evening.

Opposition Chip Whip and Kira Municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine (Kyaddondo East MP) and Moses Kasibante (Rubaga North MP) were dragged to Naggalama police station on accusations of jumping police bond. Critics however say the MPs are being persecuted for their political beliefs.

The MPs were arrested last week on allegations of inciting violence and assaulting police officers.

Vincent Ssekate, Kampala metropolitan police spokesman says the MPs have to report to CID headquarters in Kampala on Wednesday at 10am.
