Kabula county Member of Parliament James Kakooza during weekend survived being lynched by angry mourners for supporting the removal of age limit.

Kakooza survived the nasty incident during the burial of 76-year- old Vincent Nsamba, the father of Masaka Municipality MP, Mathias Mpuuga at Nakawanga village in Kisekka Sub County in Lwengo District.

The moment Kakooza arrived; angry mourners stated to jeer at him and asked him to leave immediately.

The mourners told the legislator that he wasn’t welcome for the burial since he is an enemy of Uganda for supporting the amendment of article 102b in the constitution which is aimed at scrapping the age limit thus enabling President Yoweri Museveni stand for president in 2021 when he is above 75 years of age.

Though it took the intervention of the Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga, this did not stop mourners to charge more and throwing insults to Kakooza.

As the mourners were all set to fist on the legislator, Kakooza was kept indoors for his safety until Mayiga’s guards helped him to leave under tight security.
