The demonstration against removal of Age Limits  in Makerere University has been tranquilized by police as strike leaders, also FDC Makerere Chapter leaders, Wanyera Simon And Ainebyona Ronald were arrested.

Since morning students opposed to the amendment of article 102b have been carrying out several attempts to stage a procession but their plans have been halted by the heavily deployed police which used teargas and live bullets to disperse off protesters.

After the suppression, students resorted to running around as they took selfies with all armed police officers.

Currently, the situation at Uganda’s oldest university is still tense regardless of the beefed up security in the area.
