Businessman Godfrey Banunu has reminded the chief justice of Uganda Bart Katureebe that he is not fighting for the office as chief justice rather for his land which rightfully belongs to him.

Hill Water

Banunu said this in a family meeting that took place at Sinalya village in Luwero, in the home of the late Kizza Gwonyooma.

Banunu said that he is a peaceful man following the laws of Uganda which cannot allow him to contradict with the chief justice. It is on this note that he requested him to peacefully leave his land or else pay him.

In the same meeting, the family of the late Kizza Gwonyooma lead by Joyce Namuddu one of the  widows to the deceased blasted the chief justice for calling them fraudsters who are trying to blackmail him.

In Bukedde newspaper issued on Friday 11th August 2017 and New vision of Saturday 12th of August 2017,it came out that the chief justice condemned the family of the late Kizza Gwonyooma for being fraudsters who were trying to blackmail him.

Namuddu says that it is wrong for a man like the chief justice to come out and call them what does not suit them.

Here she requested the chief justice on behalf of the family to apologize over the said allegations.

“We request the chief justice to apologize over calling us Fraudsters. May be those who sold to him are the Mafias” Said Namuddu

On this land Mr. Banunu laid a petition in the lands commission Bamugemereire registered under number LI/833/2017 where administrators have since recorded statements in support of his petition

The land in question is located at Ngoma in Nakaseke district on block number 980 of plot 19 comprising of 840 acres.
