President Yoweri Museveni has said he is well aware that land belongs to all Ugandans and government is willing to protect people from land grabbers.

While addressing land issues in Bunyoro sub region on Spice FM on Thursday evening, Museveni said the biggest issue in Uganda nowadays is land.

Talking about the amending of the land law, Museveni revealed that in case it’s amended and government picks interest in someone’s land it will compensate the title holder accordingly.

He revealed that during the construction of the Mpigi-Kanoni-Kabulasoke-Maddu-Ssemabule–Masaka road, government acquired 21 acres of his land in Gomba; he did not refuse government to acquire the land because he knew the road would be of use to him.
