The Ministry of Internal Affairs has resumed the normal operation in the issuance of passports after two months of non-issuance due to low stock.
For the last two months, passports were being issued to persons with emergencies such as treatment, government duties and students on foreign scholarships
The ministry says the list of printed passports will be available for applicants to collect.
“Clearance of backlog caused due to low stock has immediately commenced and will be cleared within the next two weeks,” says management.
“The public is further informed that a record/ list of printed passports and ready for delivery to the bonafide applicants and will be available on our websites at www.mia.go.ug and www.immigration.go.ug, ” it added.
