Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) may be out of the 2017 Total CAF Confederation Cup but that doesn’t necessary mean end of the road according to team manager, Mike Hillary Mutebi.

The manager believes the team gave a good account of themselves and had lessons to pick  from the campaign which will help them going forward.

It was a great experience to us because no one had played in the team had played up to this level. It is sad that we bow out in such a manner

The manager told www.kccafc.co.ug after the 4-0 loss against club Africain, a game KCCA FC only needed a point to advance to the quarterfinals. He added.

The future is bright for us, because we are an emerging force on the continent but we were able to weigh ourselves against some of the best teams on the continent. I believe this will help us become stronger

Mutebi believes the reigning league champions will be able to put up a better challenge next season because they have learnt a lot in this campaign.

We have a young side with an average age of 24. I think the first attempt was not disappointing, we can only improve on the next attempt

KCCA FC had a daunting outing against Club Africain at Stade Olympique Due Rades, the 4-0 result meant KCCA FC’s hopes of making the quarterfinals were shuttered.

About the result, the manager pointed out that experience mattered and the opposition knew how to handle themselves in such a situation.

I wouldn’t worry that we were outplayed. I think experience played to the fore, they knew how to handle themselves in such situation and they edged us on that

KCCA FC finished 3rd in group A garnering 9 points in six games.

In total the team has played 12 games on the continent, winning 5, drawing once and losing six, scored 12 goals while conceded 18 in turn.
