The emerged photos of the late Kampala Mayor John Ssebaana Kizito with his mistress identified as Rose Nabirye while on an introduction ceremony and in Nakasero Hospital where the DP stalwart breathed his last, have sparked mixed feelings between family members.
According to Bukedde newspaper, a section of Ssebaana’s family members want the mistress to keep off from anything to do with their family whereas others suggest that Nabirye should be warmly welcomed by the members since she has been another ‘wife’ to the fallen politician cum businessman.
Ssebana’s official wife Christine Namiiro whom he wedded in 2007 lives in UK with their children.
All Ssebaana’s five children live abroad and according to his brother Prof. Phares Mutibwa, Ssebaana died a lonely man with no family members living with him at his home of residence in Kansanga, a city suburb.
Meanwhile, Nabirye (mistress) introduced the former Democratic Party president to her parents in Mbale in 2013 and among the people who escorted Ssebaana was city business woman Sarah Nkonge. However when contacted Nkonge denied ever escorting Ssebaana to Mbale for an introduction ceremony adding that she has never seen or heard about Nabirye.
Apparently, Ssebaana’s family members are living in fear that Nabirye could be an opportunist who wants to have a share on the riches left behind by the deceased.
On the other hand, the last three weeks Ssebaana has spent at Nakasero Hospital, Nabirye has been the caretaker and she has been with by his side until the time of his demise.
It is alleged that Nabirye and Ssebaana met in 2007 and she has spent almost eight years calling herself ‘Nalongo Ssebaana’.
