Last month Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) suspended its Managing Director Winston Agaba over incompetence.
The letter of suspension had 104 accusations to answer- All related to incompetence.
According to our sources, Agaba who was named UBC MD on 22 May, 2015 has two weeks to answer the 104 accusations.
Apparently, Musoke Solomon, the head of audit is the acting Managing Director.
Agaba’s suspension came after the Minister of Information and ICT, Frank Tumwebaze on june 19, 2017 wrote to Agaba and the Board of Directors led by Simon Kaheru to show cause why they should not be kicked out for not performing their functions.
Tumwebaze contended that the management of UBC has failed to give a “clear work plan justifying the critical needs of UBC”. UBC management also failed to show coherently how they planned to use the proposed allocation of Shs 20billion, leading the ICT Permanent Secretary and his team to “re-write the plan and re-submit” it to Parliament for consideration.
