A fake catholic Priest has been arrested for allegedly conning police boss shs55 million.
According to Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) spokesperson SP Vicent Sekatte, Fr. Vicent Kambari is charged with impersonation and obtaining money through false pretence from ASP Okwedi Joseph Michael Tukei a Dental Technologist at Kibuli Police Dental Clinic.
It alleged that the fake priest approaches Tukei claiming to be a clearing agent,part of the Roman Catholic Church, conviced the officer that he was responsible for processing and handling the consignments in thr economic department of East Africa, Central Africa Republic and Congo.
The police officer was convinced that Kambari would clear his dental equipment shipment from abroad thus giving the conman shs55 million.
After realizing that he was conned, he reported a case at Kibuli Police Station under ref 14/31/05/2017.
Furthermore, othet investigations reveal that the arrested suspect has similar charges at Katwe Police station.
