Besigye’s Ramathan message to muslims

The Holy month is Ramadhan is here. For Muslims in Uganda, it’s come at a rather difficult time, when it’s increasingly difficult to get basic necessaries of life; when insecurity is escalating; various forms of injustices are rampant; and when, for many, there is uncertainty about the future.

These challenges have persisted and become entrenched in our country- the land that has never witnessed a peaceful change of leaders.

The Holy month offers believers the focused submission and devotion of our challenges to the Most High and Omnipotent power.

Hill Water

I pray and hope that this Ramadhan will be marked by greater generosity and compassion towards the deprived. More critically, that Muslims are more united and resolved to work for and promote a just, fair and caring society.

On behalf of the People’s Government and on my own behalf, I wish Muslims all over the world a happy and rewarding month of Ramadhan.

Ramadhan Mubarak.

Assalam alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu.

Kizza-Besigye
