Tumukunde said this during a meeting with the Uganda police, Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) and NIRA to discuss about SIM card registration which was held at the UCC headquarters in Bugolobi today.

“We are going to switch off every SIM card which is not registered come 19th this month,” Tumukunde said.

He further added that SIM card registration is going to help the people, police and government to resolve murder cases, fraud, terrorism and many others therefore it is a serious activity for every Ugandan to participate.

“We are going to improve the national security of our country now that people are using national Ids to register,” Tumukunde added.
