“Women in Uganda should join hands and enter groups that make them go forward.” This is a statement that was said by the women rights coordinator for action aid Uganda Miss Nivatiti Nandugu, today in a multi stakeholder dialogue on extra activities governance in Uganda.

The dialogue took place at hotel Africana, where various civil societies, ministries of lands and minerals, RDCs from districts with minerals as well as the mineral activists exchanged ideas on the best way of utilizing women in the active work of minerals.

Nivatiti says that most women do low work and get sick which makes them even not being catered for. It is on this note that she called them upon to join the human rights initiatives which shall overcome their grievances.

It is in the same dialogue that the director for Uganda Community Based Association for Women and Child care [UCOBAC] Miss Francis Birungi expressed the grief that she has over the government on the issues of the land bill.

“if I was Stella Nyanzi,I would call this land bill amendment  rape.” said Birungi.

She went ahead to give an example  that;”if you have kids ,they have started eating and then you take away the plate of food from them, then that is what the government is doing in taking peoples land.”

Emmanuel Kibirige, a gold miner says that he being a grandaunt cannot make him seat and wait for jobs which are not even going to pay him the money that he wants. It is on this note that he advised the youths to be creative and create employment for them that can earn them a living.

The public relations officer for action aid Uganda Miss Flavia Nalubega thanked the organizers for the tremendous work  and  commended action aid for all the support towards putting a woman forward
