Today’s Easter holiday has not been the usual one on the side of former Information Minister Jim Muhwezi and ex Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary, James Mugume as their children were attacked on a Saturday night by unknown thugs.
Sandra Muhwezi (Muhwezi’s daughter) and Nikko Mugume (Mugume’s son) were driving to a night club in Mbarara Town when unknown thugs struck their car with weapons.
It is alleged that the two cousins were moving from one club to another, trying to enjoy their Easter holiday.
The duo sustained severe injuries in the attack but not life-threatening.
According to former Diplomat Mugume, doctors had assured the two families that the victims were “out of danger.”
Mugume said they had reported the matter to police which has done its report and investigations are underway to establish the identities of the attackers.
