The World Cup-winning forward is to call time on a two- year stint in Turkey with Galatasaray and take on a new challenge in Asia with Vissel Kobe.

Lukas Podolski has announced that he is to leave Galatasaray at the end of the season and link up with J League side Vissel Kobe.

The World Cup-winning forward has a year left to run on his
contract in Turkey.

An approach for his services has been accepted, though,
with reports suggesting that a €2.6 million deal will take him to Asia.

Podolski is looking forward to taking on a new challenge after enjoying many productive years in Europe.

Podolski joined Gala from Arsenal in the summer of 2015,
having previously spent time with Koln and Bayern Munich

He has been a regular source of goals wherever he has been, while his passion for the game has endeared him to fan bases in Germany, England and Turkey.

The intention now is to secure similar acclaim in Japan, with a man who boasts 129 caps for Germany all set to open a new chapter in his career at the age of 31.
