The Parliamentary Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) chairperson, Abdu Katuntu has given controversial journalist, Andrew Mwenda an embarrassment of his life when he rubbished his “important information” concerning the infamous shs6 billion “presidential hand shake” in front of MPs.

Today morning, Mwenda took himself before COSASE as a concerned citizen to give his views om the oil cash bonanza where 42 government officials were rewarded with shs6 billion after Heritage, Tullow capital gains settlement.

Mwenda who started by defending, President Yoweri Museveni said that as a president he had to reward outstanding performers in the oil case.

He continued that the shs6 billion as a reward was essential since during the case, beneficiaries were under immense pressure from some people back home and abroad.

However, Mwenda’s “information” didn’t impress Katuntu who demanded that Mwende reveals the names of the people who had pressurized the oil cash beneficiaries which request Mwenda turned down saying that the names were classified.

Angry Katuntu decided to rubbish Mwenda’s “important information” thus equating his tidings to baseless rumours.
Katuntu said he will not consider any of Mwenda’s “important information” in his report since it was as good as hearsay.
