Kamwokya based television NBS seems to be telling its rivals; Catch Me If You Can.
The television which is fast turning around the broadcast media landscape has just made television competition even hotter this year.
NBS TV will be unveiling this quarter a program line-up which looks set to put the station above its current competition.
NBS has added political analyst and editor of The Independent magazine Andrew Mwenda; socio-economic and political activist Frank Gashumba; talk-show host Basajja Mivule; newsreader and presenter Samson Kasumba; Capital Gang host Oscar Semweya-Musoke; and radio presenter Rahmah “Lucky” Kanyomozi of Capital FM, to its line-up.
Gashumba has had running battles with UCC but he has grabbed a slot on telly owned by businessman Kin Kaliisa. The show he will do with former Akaboozi radio host Basajja Mivule is called The Eagle. The show gives an “in-depth look at the major national developments of the week, with an emphasis on new ideas and innovative solutions to the world’s toughest problems”, says Pamelo Adongo, NBS chief marketing officer.
Gashumba says, “Much of our talk show shall tackle critical areas geared at changing mindsets and creating self belief to ensure that we transform our lives and communities. What Africans urgently need is to believe in themselves no matter which sector they are in. There is absolutely nothing impossible!”
Already, NBS has shows such as “Frontline” hosted by seasoned journalist, Charles Odongtho every Thursday who features seasoned political analysts; Miria Matembe, Norbert Mao and Ofwono Opondo taking on each other, discussing the weeks trending topics. The weekly show is very popular and arguably the most watched political and current affairs show on television during its prime time.
