Sunday morning was a sad day for the Makerere University Business School( MUBS) as one of their own a one Benjamin Aaron Musawo was beaten to death by some students and boda boda men who had suspected him to be a thief.
As usual, Musawo’s weekend was normal like for any other University student. On Saturday evening the deceased and his friend identified as Derrick were invited by a classmate to attend a house party.
On reaching at the party venue, Musawo did not sign in and when it reached the time for signing out, the askari noticed that the prior Musawo did not sign in so he suspected him to be one of the usual thugs who usually jump fences to steal student’s property.
The students started to beat Musawo, he tried to escape but the boda boda men plus some students followed him thus beating him so bad.
A friend tried to rescue him instead he was also severely beaten.
“We went to attend a house party at Bahesi, I signed in but Musawo did not, so when time came to sign out I went out thinking he was coming after me only to notice the askari punching him like a thief,” Derrick, who is currently nursing wounds at Mulago referall hospital asserted.
Police came to their rescue and the duo was admitted to Mulago Hospital on Saturday night.
Musawo who was a first year student died on Sunday morning.
