Uganda President Yoweri Museveni on Sunday met with the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the Tsokyo International Conference on African Development in Nairobi, Kenya.
Mr Museveni told Shinzo that Uganda and Africa have supported the Japanese economy for decades by buying their products such as motor vehicles and it was only fair that Japan reciprocated the gesture by ensuring a fair balance of trade.
The Ugandan leader cited four areas in which this can happen; increased access to the Japanese market, infrastructure support and development, tourism and ensuring Japanese companies set up shop in Uganda.
At the end of the meeting, the Japanese prime minister introduced several CEOs of companies interested in investing in Uganda.
