Club Amnesia calls patrons for ‘One Last Drink’ before closing doors

Club Amnesia is closing business.

This night spot, located in the ‘heart’ of Kampala has for eight years of service been opening five a week.

Famed for its Campus night that always happened every Thursday, Amnesia will now throw their last party dubbed ‘One Last Drink’ tonight, August 1, 2019.

According to Dr Innocent Nahabwe, the co-founder and Managing Director of the hangout, they have decide to close this business because people’s drinking habits have changed.

“Those who have read my book know my view about business. Business is just business. We should as business owners know the trend our industry is taking and if possible anticipate the direction our consumer habits are taking. We have realized that in the nightclub business, everyone is drinking from near their homes, mostly in open spaces. Closed bars are phasing out. We have therefore taken the step to close Club Amnesia with effect from Friday, August 2, 2019, with the party on Thursday 1st August 2019 being our last,” he noted.

However, he claimed that they will remain on the building as a restaurant that sells local food.

“We are also thankful to our landlord Mr Rajiv Ruparelia and his dad Sudhir Ruparelia who have been good hosts, I hope we have been good tenants. We will remain at the building as a restaurant that serves the true Ugandan dish Katogo 24/7.”

The hangout’s nights always featured music premiers from both established and raising stars, as well as DJ spins from Galaxy FM’s DJs, such as DJ Nimrod, Magic Switch, DJ Denno, DJ Isaac among others that always kept partiers on feet.
