The last Friday of the month is upon us. The first Saturday and Sunday of December is also a few hours away. That is probably reason enough to party. Watchdog’s Allen Kisakye provides you with a quick guide to get you through the jam packed weekend.

The last time Sheeba Karungi was at the People’s Space, Hotel Africana, there was barely room to move as Sheebaholics showed their love. That was during the Nkwatako Concert. On Friday, the Team No Sleep (TNS) diva returns to the same venue, but this time to launch Omwooyo. The show will feature performances from all TNS artistes and others such as Ykee Benda, Vinka, Fille, Spice Diana, Geo Steady, Eddy Kenzo, B2C among others. Entrance to the venue is at Shs30,000, Shs50,000 and Shs2 million for ordinary, VIP and VVIP Tables respectively.

Worship Night. Pastor Wilson Bugembe presents ‘A night of Praise and Worship’ at his Light the World Church in Nansana, Wakiso. The worship night will feature performances from all local gospel artistes such as Levixone, Exodus, and will also feature international performers like Jack Cassidy, Icha Kevin’s Worship Army among others. Entrance to the venue is free.

Bona OK Jazz Band. Congolese rhumba grand master Simaro Lutumba will lead the Bona OK Jazz Band in a live charity concert at Grand Imperial Hotel Kampala.  According to Wikipedia, Lutumba’s songs, written and sung in Lingala demonstrate a depth of thinking that only those who dabble with poetry, philosophy and psychoanalysis can be able to write Proceeds to from the show – organized by the Nabasirye Bahana Cancer Foundation – will go towards building a cancer ward. Entrance is Shs75,000.

Friday Night Live. Last Fridays are ‘Afrigo Band Fridays’ at Guvnor. As is the norm Afrigo Band’s Friday Night Live will feature a guest artiste – Maureen Nantume. Come dance to Nkuze, Siri Ndogoyi, Webale Kunfubutula, Ndi Wuwo, Kirooto Kyange among others. Entrance to the venue will be at Shs50,000.

 December 1, 2018

Johnnie Walker Jazz and RnB Safari. Acclaimed American soul and RnB legend Ginuwine will headline the 11th edition of Johnnie Walker Jazz and RnB Safari at Munyonyo Speke Resort (Lake Side). It will also feature performances from local artistes such as Aziz Azion, Kenneth Mugabi, Naava Grey among others. Entrance is Shs150,000 Gold and Shs350,000 Platinum.

The Swengere Experience. Uganda comedy group Swengere will hold their live comedy show at Trans African City Plaza, Jinja. The show will also feature music performances from HE Bobi Wine, Nubian Lee, Spice Diana among others. Entrance to the venue will be at Shs10,000 ordinary and Shs300,000 VIP.

Fish Festival. If you are into fish, and are somewhere near Jinja, then this is your festival.  It will be held at Forever Resort, Jinja. Do not miss out on fun activities like fish exhibitions, fish cook offs, fish tasting, live band. The young ones have also been catered for with a fully equipped kids play area.  Entrance is free for children and Shs5,000 for adults.

15 Years of laughter with Pablo. Kenneth Kimuli aka Pablo will hold a show to celebrate the 15 years he has spent in the comedy industry. The show at Kampala Serena Hotel Kampala, will feature fellow comedians such as Salvador, Mariachi, Sebakijje among others.

Entrance to the show will be at Shs50,000 ordinary, Shs100,000 VIP and Shs2million VVIP Tables.

Kampala Cake Fair. It is time to take the kids – okay even the grownups – to this family cake day. The venue is the Uganda Museum. And the deal is the Kampala Cake Fair. The fair will include Kids and celebrity bake offs, Cake tasting, Cake Baking competitions as well as cake exhibitions. Cookies, Cakes and bread will be sold at discounted prices. There will also be performance from artistes such as Vinka and Daxx Kartel. Fees to the event will be at Shs5,000 for Kids and Shs20,000 for adults.
