Sir Mathias Walukagga of the famous Abantu Bakowu and many more hits seems to be heading in the right direction.
Inspite of the child neglect case he was involved in recently that took a political twist with the involvment of big politicians and government agencies, he has around the same time taken his music career to a new level by opening a studio called Sir Records based in Lungujja.
Walukagga says the reason he has decided to open his own studio is to keep alive kadongo kamu music by recording and promoting young talent in this genre while also spending more time recording, producing and mastering his music so as to put out a better product that can compete on the market.
He hopes this will keep the kadongo kamu genre that has been over taken by more urban kidandali, dance hall and urban music alive and also make it more competitive.
Other artsites that have also opened their own music studios in recent times include Spice Diana who opened 32 Records, Ykee Benda who started Mpaka records and Geo Steady to mention but a few.
