Phaneroo wins Inter-Church basketball tournament

Phaneroo last Sunday won the 6^th edition ICBC of the inter-church tournament that took place  at the YMCA basketball court in wandegeya.

The Inter – Church Basketball Coalition (ICBC) is an annual tournament aimed at spreading the gospel through the platform of basketball and uniting various youth fellowships from different churches with its core values of discipline, discipleship and devotion.

According to Rev Capt Gideon Mwesh the youth pastor and founding member of ICBC, on 1^st May 2013, a group of churches namely All Saints Cathedral, Deliverance Church, Bugolobi Church, Raze Life Church, Full Gospel and 2 other churches met at Bush court along the Lugogo bypass for what was then the first basketball tournament with the aim of connecting and enjoying basketball as they connect and reach out. This formed the first ICBC tournament.Each year has always been bigger and better,this year had seven churches participating,African gospel church Namuwongo,All saintscathedralNakasero,Agape Christian center Ntinda, Bugolobi Church of Uganda,Deliverace church Makerere,Phaneroo Int Ministries, Watoto church and Our Savior Ministries.

This year was very exciting and so competitive as each team came very well prepared exhibiting lots of skill and highlights that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Phaneroo came out victorious after wins from Deliverance church, Bugolobi Church of Uganda and lost to African Gospel church in group stages.

Phaneroo was commended by the Rev.Gideon for not only winning the trophy but also exhibiting the core values of discipline,discipleship and devotion throughout the tournament as he handled over the trophy to the Phaneroo vision bearer Apostle Grace Lubega.
