Organisers of the Pearl of Africa Fashion Awards (PAFA) have promised a bigger and better event this year.
The awards, now in their second year, will be held on December 14 at the Imperial Royale Hotel Kampala.
The organisers have also reduced the number of categories to 33 to improve on the quality of event.
Last year, the Pafas had 72 categories that included best fashion designer, best fashionista and best stylist for East, West, North and South. Various personalities were recognised in different categories at Sky Beach Freedom City.
The winners then included Maurice Kirya (best fashionable artiste), Anita Fabiola (best red carpet host), Captain Mike Mukula (best dressed politician), Idringi Salvado (best fashionable comedian) and so many others.
According to PAFA’s CEO Yoweri Munamasaka, the event was started ‘to recognise the movers and shakers of fashion industry.’
‘It’s all about fashion, style, trendz and showbiz,’ he told Watchdog Uganda.
This year’s event will start with a red carpet experience at 6pm before the main award ceremony will be hosted by Andrew Kyamagero, Diana Deedan and King of Radio.
