In government’s quest to minimize famine issues and promote agriculture in Uganda, farmers were promised modern equipments to help farmers produce high yields and decrease on the human labour.
Farmers suggested tractors for starters which can help in clearing off the land and also weeding the crops but the government has been paying a deaf ear to the farmer’s requests.
Instead the government suggested that it will eradicate traditional hoes which are being used now which move the farmers have protested citing that before removing them the government must first give out tractors to districts to help farmers carry out their activities.
The government promised to help farmers and promote agriculture so that Uganda’s economy can be improved and also eradicate famine by providing market for their products, giving them good fertilizers, pesticides and well treated seeds.
