This morning, the minister of state for investment and privatization in the ministry of finance, planning and economic development Hon. Evelyn Anite has confirmed to the investors that the government of the republic of Uganda provides free land to all investors depending on their capability to serve the nation.

Speaking this, the minister was in the boardroom of the Uganda Investment Authority, where various investors were taught on how they can adopt to the Ebiz system to enable them register and do their work faster other than the previous means which involved in a lot of corruption and bribery.

According to the information that the minister received from the URSB, registration now can take only two days for an investor to get a certificate.

“We have no gaps of corruption here since everything is online. How shall you bribe your own computer?” asks the minister.

Uganda Investment Authority [UIA] represented by the director one stop centre Mr. Joseph Kiggundu, together with the Uganda Registration Service Burial [URSB],Uganda Revenue Authority [URA], together with the directorate of citizenship and immigration control as well as  the ministry of lands pus many more, showed the investors how  they can use the portal  and demonstrated  the operations that took place at the back end to ensure that an investor was served in the shortest time possible.

The portal removes all the red tape that has been causing delays in the setting up of business in Uganda hence increasing the cost of doing business in the country.

The eBiz shall enable everyone to register and incorporate a company, apply for an investment license as well as applying for a Tax Identification Number [TIN]. Everyone shall also be able to verify land titles before land is purchased and also carry out the procedures for the environmental compliance.

According to Mrs. Sheila K Mugyenzi, the public relations officer at the UIA, there are plans to grow the same integrations of agency systems that eBiz has created as a media for offering aftercare services and many more.
