Faridah Bulega has released her final 20 man squad that will travel to Addis Ababa to face Ethiopia in the CAF Africa Qualifiers Women’s tournament games Tokyo 2020.

The Crested Cranes play Ethiopia on April 3 with the return leg to be played three days later on April 6, in Kampala Uganda.

Eighteen of these players have been under residential training at the Njeru Technical Centre for over a week and were boosted by the arrival of foreign based Yudaya Nakayenze and Sandra Nabweteme who joined the squad on Friday.

“All my players are good in camp and have been working hard. I am sure the 20 I have selected will do what is expected of them in Addis Ababa,” said Bulega.

The majority of the squad is made up of local based players with left back Marion Amangat and sleek footed winger Fauziah Najjemba who impressed in the trial game at Lugogo in line to make their international debut.

The squad consists of three goalkeepers, seven defenders, six midfielders and six strikers as the Cranes seek to qualify for the Olympics for the first time.

Airtel/FUFA Footballer of the year and first choice goalkeeper Ruth Aturo, defenders Fazila Ikwaput, Aisha Namukisa, Nakayenze, Grace Aluka and experienced Shadia Nankya have all been named as part of the squad.

A 2-member delegation will set off from Entebbe International Airport early Tuesday morning for Addis Ababa. The winner from both legs will advance to face off against Cameroon for a slot to Tokyo.
