Deputy IGP Brigadier Sabiti Muzeeyi on Monday April 30, toured the ongoing works at the Natete Police complex.
Accompanied by Assistant IGPs, Brigadier Muzeeyi expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing works.
“It’s always good to showcase our acheivements especially when we complete such projects so that the public can know the wonderful side of police,”he said.
Construction of the Natete police started in 2010 following the President’s directive to have the original old station replaced, after it had been torched by rioters during the 2009 Buganda Kingdom Kayunga riots.
The three storied building comprises of 100 office units, five self contained detention units, am exhibits room, a canteen and ample parking space.
Brigadier Sabiti thanked the police construction, engineering and logistics teams for the good job and continuous efforts in exposing the unseen positives potential of police alongside securing the peace and security of the country.
Upon completion, the facility is expected to solve the problem of congestion and help in solving other administrative challenges.
The DIGPs visit was informed by the Police Policy and Administration Committee that recommends visits to ongoing projects so as to assess the environment and establish the possible ways of utilising them.
