A Makerere University student identified as John Paul Mirimu has died after drowning in a swimming pool.
The 21 year old, was a first year student of Information Systems and a resident of Nsibirwa Hall.
According to Makerere Police station, the incident took place at around 5:30 am after jogging practice with his colleagues when he decided to jump into a swimming pool.
He was rescued, given first aid and then rushed to Mulago Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
