Congolese Mousa Mbayi says he can’t wait to play his first game in the Uganda Premier League (UPL) for Vipers Sports Club on Saturday against Police Football club, admitting it will be a “good test”.
The Venoms forward has been sidelined with a hamstring problem for over a month and is yet to make any appearance in the League.
The setback has subsequently seen the striker miss games against Bright Stars, Bul FC, SC Villa and new comers Masavu FC.
But has shown great performance in the four friendlies he has featured in since bouncing back.
“I’m very much looking forward to making my first competitive debut for this team and truth be told, l just can’t wait,” Mbayi said after today’s morning training.
“Police will be a good test for me to see where l stand going forward and I am here to score goals.”
In the four friendlies, Mbayi has played less than 10 minutes against Spartans FC and had two attempts at goal.
He played 10 minutes against Jaguar FC that was walloped 7-1 and scored one goal.
He scored the only goal as Vipers clinched the Makindye West Independence Day Cup against Katwe United on Monday and appeared for 45 minutes as Vipers came from behind to beat Nkumba University 2-1 on Tuesday.
