Remus Manifred, a 71-year-old German national, was on Tuesday attacked, robbed of his phones and shot dead at his home in Bwoweri Njeru Town Council in Buikwe.
According to Police spokesperson Asan Kasingye, Manifred was at his residence when unknown assailants armed with a pistol, gained access to his house and demanded money from him which he did not have. The assailants then shot him, robbed him his phones and escaped to unknown direction.
The businessman was rushed to Jinja main hospital for treatment where he unfortunately died from.
“We have visited the scene and opened up investigation s into the incident,” Kasingye stated.
“We call upon members of the public with any useful information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects to give it in confidence to the nearest police station or call on 0711042346, 0718464294, 0712653253 or 0714401476,” he added.
