Many people have written asking me why I linked opposition presidential candidate for life and FDC radical extremist cult leader, Kizza Besigye, to Stella Nyanzi’s vulgar attack on the First Lady Mrs Janet Museveni. I didn’t. Stella Nyanzi herself did. In her post of Thursday night she kept repeating that she is fighting for her “president”, Besigye.
Besigye or any of his handlers should have seen this. If he was a civilized politician he should have disassociated himself from Stella Nyanzi’s vulgarities and condemned her barbaric political behavior. But Besigye lacks the largeness of mind, highness of character, amplitude of comprehension to stand out and defend decency especially when the victim of indecent insults is a wife is his political rival.
Does Besigye agree that Stella Nyanzi’s way of communication is or should be acceptable style to discuss public affairs? His silence shows he shares, condones and endorses Stella Nyanzi’s vulgarities. It is shameful that Besigye lacks the courage to defend the values of decency and cannot oppose vulgarities even when hurled at his opponents.
If I was an opposition leader and one crazy person uses such indecent language against the First Lady, and she claims to be my supporter, I would come out openly to disassociate myself from her vulgarities and even condemn them. Besigye is too cheap to raise to such heights.
