Sam Mwandha has replaced Dr Andrew Seguya as the executive director of the Uganda Wildlife Authority.
Mwandha came on top after defeating fellow contenders who included Achilles Byaruhanga,who came second and Dr Seguya who came third in the final interviews.
Mwandha has been the chief party at Africa Wildlife Foundation.
Dr. Seguya was appointed to head UWA in 2012 following the sacking of Dr. Moses Mapesa in 2010.
Mapesa and his team were thrown out over allegations of impropriety.
