Umea Games receive huge sponsorship boost

With the 2019 UMEA solidarity games days away , organisers have received a huge boost with a hefty sponsorship package from partners Tropical Bank Uganda Limited.

The annual games, played amongst Muslim lenient and funded schools under their umbrella organisation Uganda Muslim Education Association (UMEA) will be held at Kasawo Secondary School with from Friday, April 19 to Monday April 22. This year’s edition has attracted close to 50 schools.

For the third year running,the bank through their Islamic banking service have given a Shs6.8 million sponsorship package to the organisers of the games.

Dr Sulaiman Lujja, the head of Islamic Banking at Tropical bank vowed to continue supporting the games.

“I commend the organisers of the 2019 UMEA Muslim Solidarity Games for continually having improved the Games. As Tropical Bank, we are focused to improve on the sponsorship. We urge our customers to also continue supporting us as we promote the flagship campaign of Tropi-Hajji,” said Lujja during the hand over ceremony.

The schools will compete in different sporting disciplines like football, Volleyball, handball, netball, table tennis and Badminton in both the boys and girls categories.

Kibuli SS emerged the overall winners of these games last year.
