The Uganda Cranes have been placed in the third pot ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations draws to be held on Friday, April 12 in Giza, Egypt.
With all 24 teams to take place in Africa’s biggest foot show piece confirmed, the Confederation for African Football (CAF) has placed the teams in four pots according to their ranking and tournament coefficient.
Uganda alongside South Africa, Benin, first time qualifiers Mauritania and Madagascar and neighbours Kenya will be placed in Pot three.
Africa’s top seeded nations of Tunisia, Morrocco, Senegal, 2013 winners Nigeria, defending Champions Cameroon and hosts Egypt have been placed in Pot 1 despite Egypt already taking a slot in Group A.
Pot 2 features 2015 champions Ivory Coast, Democratic Republic of Congo, two time winners Ghana, Mali, Guinea as well as Algeria.
Pot 4 will have East African nations Tanzania and Burundi together witt 2012 hosts Angola, Zimbabwe, Guinea Bissau and Angola.
The draw will take place at 1900hrs in Giza, Egypt overlooking world wonders the Great Pyramids. The final tournament will kick off from 21st June and climax on 19th July.
