Nile Special Stout have today, November 28, 2019 replaced Nile Special as title sponsors of the new Uganda Rugby Premier League season.
According to Francis Nyende, the Nile Special Stout brand manager, the new Shs670 million sponsorship deal will see Shs100 million shared by clubs, while prize money has been increased from Shs22 million to Shs40.5million.
“The rest of the money will cater for other league requirements including special categories prize money,” Nyende confirmed to Uganda Rugby Union (URU) during the unveiling ceremony at Kyadondo Rugby Club.
He added that this was just a change in brands but the company (Nile Breweries Limited) is still committed to the development of the sport.
Godwin Kayangwe, the URU president applauded the unconditional support of the company to the sport, promising club managers that he will make rugby the leading sport in the country.
