The greatest power you possess in life is your understanding that life gives you a fresh start any moment you choose. The youth should take a step forward by ensuring that they change from subsistence to urban, industrial and service based economies.currently the youth account for the 78% of the total population in Uganda but has remained the majority of the population that are unemployed, rated at about 70%.

This is a justification that a large number of youths are unproductive, and yet some of these young people seem not to bother themselves engaging in any attractive and important income generating activities but spend most of their time in dubious activities such as betting, thefts, prostitution ,Discos, some of which the public has ignored and treated like normal activities.

This has not only crippled the youths economically but has become detrimental to the entire social economic transformation of this country given the fact that the youths constitute the majority in the population.

It is so shocking to find out how many youths do not believe that they can learn, and how many more believe learning to be difficult. The above highlights therefore beckoned the youths to embrace learning and at least acquire the basic vocational skills, put it into practice and create development .

It is of importance for one to develop a talent that can be traded for money. The opportunist talent still rely in areas such as  entertainment, craft and athletic industry .

Other tasks that have remained unresolved by the youth is to eliminate the habit of laziness, sluggishness, Idleness and despise of jobs.In the arena of starting an investment, the youth who start an investment lack patience in manging the business.

The youth need to start a business while knowing that it takes time for an investment to ripen. It may take time for one to build a mantle and so it is the case for a business. An investment may start yelding fruit after months or years.

Habits of job segregation where youths tend to prefer theoretical tasks at the expense of vocational skills is crippling our future hopes. As a country we still have countless opportunities in vocational activities. The youth who are Equipped  with vocational skills can join businesses such as tailoring, carpentery and joinery, welding, which are a clear source of money to the youths.

It’s also important to note that this is an important era of information technology , where internet mark a global village. The youths should begin to use internet as a means of promoting their organization and marketing businesses other than using it to abuse and attack people.

Nevertheless,  it is important for the young people to discover and make use of government programs such as Youth Livelihood Programs, Emooga, Parish Development Model and  Uganda Women Entrepreneurship programs .
