While appearing on “Ihanga Lyaitu ” program on life FM ,the deputy Resident City Commissioner-RCC Fort Portal Central Division Emmanuel Businge informed the people of Tooro that government is working hard to address unemployment problem in the Sub region.
This he said is through government’s poverty alleviation programs tailored at empowering people with the necessary skills and funds for investment .
“Take advantage of what the government is offering ,invest wisely and engage in the money economy to improve household incomes,” Mr Businge said.
He also called upon people to embrace the initiatives like the presidential youth skilling program ,”emyooga”, the Parish Development Model among other that will help improve their livelihoods.
In his closing remarks ,the DRCC tipped people to always inquire what they intend to do for Tooro region and not asking what Tooro region should do for them. He further thanked President Yoweri Museveni for pledging to give Shs1 billion for the renovation of Fort Portal Catholic cathedral and the preparations of Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations in Namugongo.
