The Resident City Commissioner of Fort Portal City Angalia Godwin flanked by Allan Bamuha, the Deputy RCC Fort Portal City North Division have called up on christians to embrace all government programs already launched and those coming ahead in order to eradicate poverty and increase their household income.

The duo which was welcomed by Dr.KL.Dickson, the head of KL.Dickson Ministries International made the plea yesterday while addressing Palm Sunday celebrants at Christian Fellowship Cathedral Fort Portal City.

Mr Angalia reiterated the call for embracing and harnessing government programs like Emyooga and the Parish Development Model and all others poverty alleviation programs already brought by government to improve the livelihoods of Ugandans. He encouraged the youth and women to be more active in all these programs.

Mr Angalia further encouraged the people to utilize government offices for all services and asserted that the RCC’s office and the two Deputies is wide open to receive everyone for consultation and anyother official engagements for a peaceful and developed Uganda.

Mr Bamuha on his part encouraged the christians to embrace the peace already existing in Uganda and utilise it for personal development. He further cautioned the people to be vigilant given the fact that they are now entering into the busy season of Easter Holidays.

“You should ensure a keen eye on property and neighborhood watch,” he said.

Mr Bamuha also reminded the christians to still mantain vigilance on COVID19 SOPs since the virus is still at large with new infections being reported in the country.

Palm Sunday is the first day of Holy Week, a seven-day span that culminates the day before Easter Sunday. The feast commemorates Jesus’ triumphant arrival in the city of Jerusalem for Passover, where he was greeted by a crowd of people laying palm branches at his feet.
