Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) chairman, Everest Kayondo has passed on.
According to KACITA’s Chief Executive Officer Abel Mwesigye, Kayondo died on Wednesday at Lifeline International Hospital in Zana, Kampala where he had been admitted with Covid-19 symptoms on over the weekend.
“He died this afternoon at Lifeline International Hospital in Zana. He was admitted on Saturday after testing positive with Covid-19,” Mwesigye said.
Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has since mourned the late Kayondo saying, “Sad news of the passing on of the Chairman of Kampala City Traders Association, Mr. Kayondo Everest(KACITA). My heartfelt sympathies to his family, KACITA members and the entire businesse community in Kampala and the country at large. May His soul rest in peace.”
