A few days ago, Kagoma North Member of Parliament Brandon Alex Kintu aka ‘Musaayi muto’ was accused of taking off with Shs80 million meant to mobilize for Rebecca Kadaga’s Speakership reelection bid.

Kintu withdrew from the National Resistance Movement NRM retreat in Kyankwanzi reportedly to tend to his sick wife who had been admitted to one of the VIP health facilities in Kampala.

Our findings later revealed that the MP’s wife Rinty Kintu, a white woman from Holland had fallen ill as a result of a covid-19 vaccination she had received unaware that she was pregnant. As specialized attention in the country didn’t yield much, Rinty was referred to Nairobi’s Aghakan Hospital from where she continues her recuperation.

Some media outlets allegedly hostile to Kadaga ( Kintu being an integral part of her campaign team) reported that the youthful and energetic MP had taken off with Shs80 million Kadaga had kept him with to facilitate clandestine Mobilisation at Kyankwanzi.

It was also alleged that investigations had proved that the MP had no patient at all and had just ran home to enjoy a cool atmosphere with family.

Bigwigs at the different levels within team Kadaga have variously trashed the accusations, insisting their man is as clean as snow and that he remains integral in rooting for the Speaker’s reelection later this month.

Not taking the insiders’ words for a gospel truth, Watchdog News has tried to do a background check on the person of Alex Brandon Kintu and we can authoritatively conclude that our findings are shockingly exciting.

Kintu is one of the few most economically blessed new entrants to the eleventh Parliament that Uganda will be watching keenly.

A former member of Forum for Democratic Change, Kintu had on the previous two occasions(2011 and 2016) ran a big money campaign in Kagoma to the shock of most people in government. On each of the two occasions, Kintu missed out on parliament by hair’s width.

In 2016, Kintu was reportedly sweet talked by a team from Kadaga to try his luck under the ruling side and he struck gold this time.

As soon as he was declared winner, he turned all his energies to rooting for Kadaga- his benefector’s support for reelection in the next parliament. As a result, he has moved from place to place, confidently telling out the goodness of Kadaga among fellow MPs despite being a new member.

On top of his commendable individual sacrifice, Kintu has sponsored an army of social media worriers all over the country whom he has paid as much as ten million shillings weekly to keep the bonfire alight.

At Kyankwanzi, he left everyone in utter amazement and disbelief. The flamboyant legislator turned the retreat into a merry making affair. He would treat fellow MPs to a goat roasting Bazar every evening where the issue of the speaker was discussed in whispers to avoid being reprimanded for violating General Museveni’s order against campaigns.

Keeping himself in his true form of an able cheerleader, Kintu would stubbornly shout “Good morning from Kadaga” during the morning drills, making hostile teams develope goosebumps.

This entirely explains why his disappearance from Kyankwanzi was seen as an opportunity by hostile camps to smear him with dirt to soil his reputation and perhaps kill his motivation by throwing his team into confusion.

The accusations would however boomerang on the architects of the plot. They are at fault for not doing a thorough background check on the person they wanted to malice. Had they known, they would have perhaps reconsidered the price to tie on him.

Mr Kintu is an insanely rich young man. One needed to allege he had taken off with millions of dollars. Maybe a billion dollar or something like that. But Shs80 million is just pocket change to the young legislator.

Mr Kintu and his Dutch wife have been actively involved in philanthropic work away from politics. Their activities have majorly focused in Busoga with maternal health as a major area of focus.

They also boast of a string of properties both in Jinja and Kampala including their home in Muyenga. In Europe, the couple also invested in real estate.

With all that background, it becomes clear now why anyone would fight tooth and nail to have such an economically resourceful man crashed if they can’t have him on their side.
