Gay groups, terrorists funding opposition-Museveni echoes as he commissions West Nile campaign taskforce

The training and orientation of NRM coordinators under the Office of the party Chairman in the Eastern, Northern and West Nile regions of Uganda finally came to a colorful end with President Yoweri Museveni warning West Nile voters against falling into a trap by the Western imperialists’ backed opposition.

Museveni’s appeal to the Subregion was delivered by her Personal Assistant in his capacity as the NRM Party Chairman Milly Babirye Babalanda during the commissioning of over a hundred coordinators from the nine districts of West Nile on Thursday 18 at Arua Public Primary School in Arua City.

The President appealed that as the country heads into the crucial electioneering atmosphere, the public must be vigilant to decipher the lies peddled by forces hostile to the ruling Government. He used the 2018 by-election that saw his party defeated majorly due to the lies traded by the Bobi Wine backed opposition team that led Kasiano Wadri to Parliament.

“Those are being used by the West to introduce despicable acts of homosexuality and cultural disruption. Also terrorist groups operating in the Great Lakes Region are using indirect methods through politicians. Don’t fall for their schemes,” Museveni warned.

Museveni further thanked the people of West Nile for chasing away insurgents and stopping ADF from using the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to sow instability in the region.

“Other rebel groups like UNRF joined the NRM Government. West Nile is a bastion of peace. People are productive. Being busy brings peace and prosperity,” Museveni asserted.

Museveni also noted that they should encourage young people to engage in production.

“Let them emulate Gen. Moses Ali who is engaged in large scale commercial farming. He is old but not poor. Emulate him! You still have land and it is very fertile. ”

Museveni congratulated the people upon the elevation of Arua to City status and called upon them to harness the status to use it as a commercial hub tapping into the Congo and South Sudan markets.

“Arua is not a political city for dividing people and wrangling for power but spurring economic transformation. Avoid political wrangles among yourselves! They are unhelpful and designed to slow our progress”.

Museveni asked the people of West Nile to vote leaders who will connect with NRM and use resources allocated very well to benefit the common West Niler.

“If you vote NRM leaders at all levels, it will be easier to agree on interventions that will rapidly transform your sub-region and implement them,” the head-of-state said.

After the training, Ms. Babalanda commissioned the coordinators to comb all corners of the sub region and mobilise for Museveni’s reelection in next year’s Presidential elections so he can score higher than he has done in the past.

Jacob Oulanya – Deputy Speaker and incoming Second Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda took time to eloquently equip the newly commissioned mobilisers with useful Technics that would endear them to their intended audience as they gather support for their candidate.

He asked them to fully get equiped with information about Museveni since he will be the item for which they will be sales persons. He said it’s impossible to convince a buyer to buy from you unless you are strongly knowledgeable about what you are selling.
