Catholics urged to be humble

Catholics across the country have been asked to be humble and tolerate each other if they are to live happily life.

The call was made by Rev Fr Richard Dennis Ssebugwawo, during Mass at Sacred Heart Ntungamo Town Catholic Parish on Thursday.

He told couples to cooperate, respect and love one another like what Virgin Mary did during her Earthly life.

Catholics throughout the world on Thursday celebrated Assumption Day, the day on which they believe that the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus Christ, ascended into heaven.

The same Mass was used to send off Rev Ssebugwawo who was recently posted at Nyamitanga parish and Rev Fr Acleo Kafeero who was posted at Kagongo parish.

Rev Fr Ssebugwawo hailed the people of Ntungamo parish and the Municipality at large for the cooperation and love they showed to him during his five and half years at the parish.

He welcomed his successor Rev Fr John Bosco Tumusiime, saying priests were called to serve wherever they are posted.

The mayor of Ntungamo Municipality Jacob Kafureeka alias Jack Jex applauded the former priests for promoting unity saying that they serve all people regardless of their religion affiliations.

The Christians awarded gifts to them as a form of appreciation.
