Rival Nyabikoni SS gang beats Kigezi High School student to death

A student of Kigezi High School has been stoned to death, reports from Kabale District police indicate.

Rogers Bakashaba, a Senior Five student was killed after his colleagues attacked Nyabikoni SS on Sunday June 9, at about 5pm.

“For unknown reasons, a large number of students from Kigezi High School attacked Nyabikoni SS in Kanyakyiriro cell, Nyabikoni ward, Central Division Kabale Municipality with sticks, stones and bricks,” a police source told watchdoguganda.com.

“In reiteration, the Nyabikoni students overpowered them, hitting the deceased with a blunt object on the head. He bled profusely and died instantly about 50 meters away from Nyabikoni SS.”

Police was notified and responded by repulsing the Kigezi High School students back to their school.

“About 28 students of Kigezi high and one of Nyabikoni SS have been arrested for questioning as inquiries to establish the cause of the attack are underway,” the source said.

A file has been opened at Kabale police under SD 34/09/06/19.
