Police in Kabale is investigating circumstances that brought the accident which claimed one man.
The Fatal accident involving motor vehicle registration number UAP 071F Isuzu Elf and a motor Cycle registration number UEJ 875D Bajaj occurred at Kicumbi, along Kabale Katuna road on Tuesday evening at round 16:30.
According to the Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Maate, the rider Dickson Tweheyo, 25 died instantly.
He was a boda boda cyclist staging at Nyabikoni stage within Kabale Municipality and hails from Bufundi in Rubanda district.
Police says that the driver of the vehicle is yet to be identified as he fled the scene.
Police took the body to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for postmortem and the vehicle was towed to Kabale police station plus the motor cycle for inspection.
Maate says that preliminarily investigations say the cause of the accident was carelessness. He has called on drivers to follow traffic rules regularly to void such accidents.
This case has been registered at Kabale police under file number TAR 37/2018 as investigations continue.
