PROFILE: Who is Simon Muyanga Lutaaya?

Simon Muyanga Lutaaya was born on March 10,1978 to Mr. Peter Muyanga (RIP) and Margaret Namukwaya Muyanga as the first child in a family of 7, he started his Primary Education at Kasawo Mubanda Boarding Primary School in Mukono before the family relocated to Buyuge Primary school in Kaliro District where he completed his Primary education.

He later joined St John’s Secondary School Wakitaka in Jinja for his Ordinary Certificate of Education and Kiira High School for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education in 1999.

He later joined Makerere University for his first degree in Education and Management, a second degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and later a Masters in Journalism and Communications also from Makerere University.

Muyanga who was later double knighted by the Kabaka of Buganda His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi 11 in 2003 and the parallel Kyabazinga of Busoga His Royal Highness Edward Colombus Wambuzi XIII in 2015 hence the title, Sir.

He started his journalism career with the NGABO Newspaper towards its closure, Juba Times Newspaper, Kiira Fm and NBS FM in Jinja before moving to Central Broadcasting Services,CBS and later NBS Television in Kampala where he has worked as Parliamentary Reporter, Luganda News Anchor, Senior Luganda Editor and Head of Desk, News Manager and Chief News Editor up to 2014 when he was promoted to Head of Current Affairs, Show Host, Producer and now Head of Training, a position he holds to date.

He has taught in Kisasi College School, Kiira High School, Good Heart Secondary School, delivered inspirational lectures at Makerere University, Ndejje University and Cavendish University among others.

Muyanga is the Chief Executive Officer and lead Consultant at SML Media Communications Limited, a media, Public Relations and Advertising Consultancy registered in 2012 and the holding company for Dmemories Studios, SML school of Media and Business, Tours of Hope Inspirational organization.

He enjoys reading, politics, hymns, scouting, traveling and farming. He is married with children.
