KCCA FC has been given the green light by CAF to use the “Visit Kampala” logo on the front of the players’ jerseys in the 2018 CAF Champions’ League group stage games.
“Visit Kampala” is the official travel guide to Kampala and a product of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) which is the sole owner and guarantor of KCCA FC.
In a letter addressed to CAF, KCCA FC with authority from KCCA requested to use the “Visit Kampala” logo on its jersey during the CAF Champions League matches in an aim to promote the city of Kampala as a whole during the CAF Champions League games.
In response, CAF through, Amr Fahmy the General Secretary wrote to KCCA FC authorizing the request.
“Reference to the request sent by your club KCCA concerning the publicity of “Visit Kampala” on the front of the players’ jerseys, kindly be informed that the club is authorized to put the above-mentioned publicity during the matches of the TOTAL CAF Champions League 2018 on the front of the players’ jerseys,”said Amr Fahmy.
The jersey with the “Visit Kampala” logo will be the official KCCA FC jersey in the CAF Champions League used by players and fans.
The usual KCCA FC jersey with sponsors’ logos will not be used in the CAF Champions’ League group stages because of conflicting interests with “LAGARDERE SPORTS” an official CAF exclusive agent for the commercialization throughout the world of all the media rights and the marketing rights, pertaining to all the matches and the competitions.
