Information reaching our desk indicates that the head of Da’wa in Uganda Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata Batte has been dismissed as a staff member at Bilal Islamic School Bwaise for allegedly insulting and beating up a teacher.

It is reportedly that sheikh Muzaata assaulted Ramathan Ssebalamu whom he accused of punishing his son a one Lukanga Mushanga who is Primary four.

Lukanga told a local news site that Ssebalamu decided to beat him up after he refused to clean the school compound.

The chairman Board of Directors for Bilal Islamic Schools, Hajji Muhammad Lwembawo Serwanjja said that many staff members and pupils have been complaining about Muzaata’s unending insults against them.

“We have decided to lay him off until further notice, we are sitting as a board to solve this matter and if it means firing him, we are going to do so, we have written to him about this,” he said.

However in defence, Sheikh Muzaata refuted the assault allegations saying that he just talked to the teacher.

He also revealed that he is yet to receive a dismissal letter from the school administration.

“I’m waiting for that dismissal letter to come to me, I have been warning teachers of Bilali Islamic schools for insulting children but they never listen, my boy was seriously beaten by that teacher a one Ramathan Ssebalamu and I tried to talk to him,” noted Sheikh Muzaata.
